Ok no matter WHAT setting I have this set to, it ALWAYS converts to 4:3, not 16:9, which in itself isnt a problem, But just more distracting on a widescreen tv.

Maybe I'm mising something. Any ideas?

I Created a new profile, set to 16:9, and on the 720i setting Height 720 - width 1080 (not avisync, as I cant get that to convert AT ALL, after like 3 seconds it says complete, though its not in my Converted Video folder) and when I try it, it stays at the 4:3 ratio.

Plz help

It did the same thing for me, but i am trying now with the auto resize function off, and all the video settings set at original. i'll repost if it works.

I left all my settings on original except for the aspect ratio, selected 16:9 turned off auto resize. then i noticed this little button near the bottom that said save settings, which i hadn't noticed the previous times while changing my settings, so i clicked it and then converted my file and watched it in proper format for my tv...hope this helps.

I haven't... been fighting with it all morning... Was doing a test run on a video I have and it always appears small. Been saving my setting changes each time, and they appear to stay when I double check, but still have a small picture in a 42" tv screen when I run the feed through the computer to the xbox. I do not know if it is a setting in the software, tv or 360, nor do I know how to find out.

I have a Sharp Aquos 1080p Full HD tv. I do not know if my display settings effect the way the video is converted and played through the 360 to the television or not. My current display settings are1280x800 - according to the tv manual, there is a pc format compatibility chart. This chart reads as follows:

VGA 720x400 hori. freq. 31.5 kHz vert. freq. 70Hz
VGA 640x480 hori. freq. 31.5kHz, 37.9kHz, 37.5kHz vert. freq. 60Hz, 72Hz, 75Hz
SVGA 800x600 hori. freq. 35.1kHz, 37.9kHz, 48.1kHz, 46.9kHz vert. freq. 56Hz, 60Hz, 72Hz, 75Hz
XGA 1024x768 hori. freq. 48.4kHz, 56.5kHz, 60.0kHz vert. freq. 60Hz, 70Hz, 75Hz
WXGA 1360x768 hori. freq. 47.7kHz vert. freq. 60Hz
SXGA 1280x1024 64.0kHz vert. freq. 60 Hz

As you can see, the closest range I have to this would be setting my computer to a 1024x768 res. which leaves black space on either side of the computer screen. The tv manual also says that it is necessary to set the pc format correctly to display the XGA and WXGA signals. The tv manual goes on to say that some input signals may have to be registered manually. The pair of input signals (resolutions) in the list (below) are not distinguishable when received. In such case, you have to set the correct signal manually. After setting once, ir will display when the same signal is input again, The signals it gives are 1024x768 and 1360x768. My resolution is not listed in either place, so I am not sure I have to manually set it or not. Can some one help me?

Okay I am REALLY getting frustrated with this. I need some help and I haven't been getting it. I have been using the MPEG2 1080p setting and once in a while my xbox will find the videos in My Videos, and some times I get the screen that says No Videos found - when I moved the video to the My Video folder. What is the deal? I need to get it to play a video in order to check the settings on my tv. I am about to trash this software and look for something else!!!

Okay, I have found that I have to use the TV setting to get it to play a video, not the HDTV setting as I assume it is something with the connection cables. So, playability is squared away. However, I noticed with my tv that I do not have an "input signal" option under the settings in the menu; I assume this means that I actually have to have a PC connected to the tv via AV cables - which I don't have. So I cannot check to see if my size issue is due to tv settings or not. No matter my setting in the XBox converter, and whether I use removable hardware or the computer connection though the xbox, I get this on my tv:

I want to get it so that it is the full screen, can someone help me?

Alright, after 3-4 days tinkering, I found the that if I use the choose my settings, then the tv size option, and convert the file. I then pull it up on the Xbox and it is like the picture in the previous post... That was as far as I got - UNTIL, I resumed playing my movie and using my controller for Xbox, hit A and pulled up the video menu to skip ahead to where I'd left off - just on the right of the skip foreward button there is one for display... well, THAT was what fixed it to play the movie in full screen on my tv...

Hope this helps anyone else having this problem.
