still can't install... (dotnetfx.exe issues)

I've been trying to install the 2.X series and have received the same error time and again. The installer hangs immediately at the dotnetfx.exe portion of the install and times out. I've gone to the Microsoft site and installed dotnetfx myself.

Is there anyone patient enough to assist me with this issue. I'm extremely jealous of all of the positive reports I've read about using the converter and really would like to try something other than the old 0.91 release that I still have.

If you are installing .NET manually, make sure you install the .NET 2 CLR from:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=0856EACB-4362-4B0D-8EDD-AAB15C5E04F5&displaylang=en
