I don't see a conversion problem, but your paths have some weird characters:
C:\Documents and Settings\efi\Τα έγγραφά μου\Converted Videos\iPod\H264\Beyonce - Live performance.mp4

Try putting the source and output in the root directory C:\

What msopent said.

Other suggestions:
- Use an AVISynth profile
- Turn off AutoResize and set the height/width in said AVISynth profile to 320x224

- Turn off AutoResize and set the height/width in said AVISynth profile to 320x224

Actually, I'd set it to 320x240. It's really a 4:3 source... or at least it was before it got mpeged. I'd also update the program to v2.19. AutroResize SHOULD have converted that to 320x240 but there was a bug that was fixed in v2.19 relating to that issue.

the problem is that itunes doesn't play the converted video and i can't even add it manualy..

Midiman

The problem is: iTunes doesn't like this resolution:

MSG - Converter - New Width:320 | New Height: 218

Change it to 320x240 and reconvert. Quicktime should be able to play it as it is, but iTunes won't like it.

quick time payer doesn't play it either.. how do I change width and height?

Midiman

This is the profile you're using:

H.264 QVGA 768kbps Stereo/128kbps

Edit it. Turn off autoresize and enter the width and height in the section above autoresize.

i don't see anywhere ''autoresize''...

relent

Click the "Settings" tab.

Click Edit Profile

Click the "Video" tab

Its under the "general" section

Turn autoresize off, and set the resolution to 320*240

thank u very much for ur answers.. i did that and it was already 320*240 but i turned autoresize off.. But it didn't work again! It says that it could not be added in itunes library..

Midiman

I'd need to see another log. There are several reason why it might not get added to iTunes automatically. You may be running into a combination of two or more reasons. Did you try adding it manually again? If so, how? Lots of people try the import option and that doesn't work so they figure they can't. They don't realize that "importing" is the wrong way to do it. Lots of possibilities here.

i try to add it in itunes library with the mouse and by choosing: add a new file etc but in both cases it just ignores it! I also can play it in any media player or quick time player etc.. Here is another log:

your paths have some weird characters:
C:\Documents and Settings\efi\Τα έγγραφά μου\Converted Videos\iPod\H264\Beyonce - Live performance.mp4

Try putting the source and output in the root directory C:\
You still have weird characters in your path. Try the root directory for both input and output.

In addition to the odd cryllic characters, it looks like you did manage to turn autoresize off.... but you didn't enter 320x240 for the width and height in the section just above the autoresize area labeled "resolution". Leave the aspect ratio and framerate options alone but change the width and height. You're also still using v2.18. The bug with the autoresize feature has supposedly been fixed in v2.19. You may not have to do this if you download the newer version.

I just fixed resolution and again it didn't work! These characters are just greek.. I don't think this is the problem, but if it is can u tell me how to change the root?

msopnet
04-25-2007, 01:46 PM
He means simply put your source file in the root directory: D:\
instead of in: D:\Τα βίντεό μου\Videoclip\

Then in Settings -> Devices in Videora, have it save to C:\
instead of in: C:\Documents and Settings\efi\Τα έγγραφά μου\Converted Videos\iPod\H264\

I finally managed to add it in itunes library! But it doesn't play there and i can't pass it in ipod.. It works though on quick time player.. can u help me?

msopnet
04-25-2007, 03:46 PM
You'll have to explain better. iTunes plays with Quicktime player, so if it works in Quicktime it must work in iTunes (it may not, however, work on your iPod).

And like we said above, you have to resize the video. Your resizing did not actually happen, so it will not work on your iPod due to this.

efi
04-25-2007, 03:51 PM
It shows on itunes library but when i try to play it, it doesn't.. what can i do?

Midiman
04-25-2007, 04:30 PM
That's not explaining better... we got that from the last message. How did it get into iTunes? Are there any error messages from iTunes when you try to play it? What resolution is the file? Play it in Quicktime and select Window>Show Movie Info...

efi
04-25-2007, 04:37 PM
it is 320*340. It was added in itunes library automaticaly and it appears there but when i try to play it, it does nothing.. No error messages... I tried ''convert selection for ipod'' from itunes and there was a message that said: error tha file could not be found..

Midiman
04-25-2007, 04:41 PM
I hope it's not really 320x340... that might be a problem. What happens when you highlight the file in iTunes, right click it and select Get Info from the menu?

efi
04-25-2007, 04:48 PM
it shows a window that says bit rate:127kbps, sample rate:44,100khz etc

msopnet
04-25-2007, 05:56 PM
Well, 320x340 is too big, the biggest it can be is 320x240. You have to convert it with the height being 240, as described in a previous post, you may have accidentally typed 340.

it shows a window that says bit rate:127kbps, sample rate:44,100khz etc

That window also shows you the resolution... which is what I asked for. I don't care about bitrate and sample rate. You're not helping me help you much here.

i meant 240.. and the window doesn't show resolution.. Anyway I just fixed it (by changing root) and now it plays in itunes.. But I can't get it in ipod!! It shows a message that says that the file can not be played on this ipod! I bought it a month or less ago so it should definitely play videos.. Is there anything I can do?

About the last piece of advice I can give you is to stop using window's documents and settings folder as storage and conversion space for ypur files. Create your own folder somewhere on the C: drive... hopefully not nested 4 levels deep... and simplfy your file names.

i selected the file and pressed ''convert collection for ipod''.. Before it didn't do anything and it showed a message that said: error, file not found, but now it worked!
