Now that the Wii Opera Browser has finally been released, we were finally able to test Wii Media Center X on the Wii and like a lot of you have mentioned, we've also noticed that there are major issues.
Since the Wii browser only supports Flash 7 and does not support LiveConnect, you will most likely encounter problems using the slideshow or my music features. Also there are reports of choppy video in the My Video's section.
We wanted to let you know that we are aware of these issues and are working on fixing them. Our plan of attack is to first get the Video section working well and then move onto the other sections.

It's been working great so far and I'm downloading the Mac OS X package to test if it works so I don't have to run the server on my laptop.
Great job guys. :)

I have also noticed that images in the Media Centre don't actually.. show up on the Wii. The files are there and detected, but once you click on one it seems to open in a new window or something and return to a previous page in your history. Maybe you made the images show up as pop-ups? As far as I can tell, the Wii's Opera browser doesn't handle pop-ups very well and is pretty much assigned to kill them

I upped 2 pics to it, and the first one was really big in resolution, so i had to zoom to see the whole thing. The second one was even larger in res. and it put me to the menu. Probably just couldnt handle such a large picture like that maybe. Itd be cool if it fit in one screen also.

Alright heres my setup. I'm using FF on my PC and am using OOk to download embeded videos from youtube. So ive downloaded a couple of the angry nintendo nerd vids and usually about halfway through they stop running completely. If i refresh the page i get a about a quarter farther in the vid but then it stop.

From my understanding, the software is a server that you download and run from your computer, not the Wii. you install the software to your PC, and then connect to your pc's network address with the Opera Browser on the Wii.

Any chance on releasing the source code? I think the open source community would really help this Media Center X get off of the ground.
Has a lot of potential right now.

Just wondering if there is any update as far as when the full release will be available. I think this software is going to be amazing and it is really the only software out there to do this with the Wii.
One feature that I am really hoping is in the initial release is the ability to point the Media X server to a network drive for music. I have all my music centrally located on a NAS HD.
Thanks in an advance for any update,

I found I was able to squeeze another 5 minutes out of my video after it froze by either navigating away then back (to clear the cache, I believe) or by clearing the cookies.
It seems like the video freeze has almost everything to do with the way that the video is stored locally and that 512MB of internal memory is a pittance for what storage availability there should be on the Wii.
I know that Flash 7 took next to forever to be ported to any Linux platform. I wonder how long it will take for Flash 9 to make it to the Wii. (Perhaps, pre-supposing it is built on a Linux type platform.)

*sigh*
With about 8 months before any dev has spoken, I have a feeling this is not only back burnered, but likely dead.
I've been playing with the Open Source Red5 Flash Media Server, which, I believe might solve some of the streaming problems and lockdowns. I'm going to experiment with it on the Wii and see what comes of it.
Since this is a true streaming server, it will likely function a lot better than the progressive video play that I believe the Wii Media Center X uses. Hopefully with more responsive controls, volume control and no freezing.

I just know why it freezes... the whole Video will be load into the RAM of the Wii (or better, the part of RAM that Opera uses as a cache) and plays it from there. When the Cache reaches its limit, the video playback will stop and the Wii could Freeze. To Fix this problem thay should find a way to delete the cache slowly after the video starts or spmethong like this. I don't know if it's possible to do something, but i hope someone will find a way to fix this problem...
