in the console every minute or so i get this:
[wmv2 @ 009BC940]J-type picture is not supported
Error while decoding stream #0.1
and in the converted video...bits and pieces of the video is like stuffed up like squares mixed up and the picture scrambled if you get what i mean...
please help ... how to fix it and prevent it?

The converter doesn't seem to like some flavors of wmv video.

Maybe you could try a profile that says AVISynth. I've had some wmvs work with AVISynth.

Don't use the VideoWizard.
Click the CurrentConversion tab.
Click the "Convert Video"
Select the video file you want to convert.
In the Profile dropdown box, select one of the profile that say "Avisynth" in the title.
Click Start.
