Now thaty I changed my settings to no file splitting I am only able to decrypt a few movies. I get error messages that say I don't havce enough space on the disk. Truly that is immpossible. I have more than 3/4 of free space on my external drive and way more room than I should need, some movies go thru just fine while others won't. What to do?

Are you sure it's set to write to your external drive?

It's not reading the audio stream from your input DVD correctly... I can't suggest anything though... anyone else?

Nope... weird.

Only suggestion I can make is set your profile's Audio Sample Rate to a value other than input. '48000' is the normal rate for DVDs.

I went into settings and changed IFO MODE to none and redecrypted as one file and it took this time. However when I try this on any movie over 2 hours long I get an error message saying there isn't enough disk space, unles I change the setting back to 4GB or smaller to have it changed into 2 or more files. It's ok with me if that the way it has to be. Any suggestions?

Your drive probably isFAT32 formatted. The maximum file size on FAT32 drives is about 4GB. You can convert it to NTFS and you will not have this problem.

You can verify by going to My Computer, right-click on the drive and select Properties. In the General tab, you will see File System: FAT32 or NTFS.

The only tool I've used to convert this is PartitionMagic, but it's $70. Anybody got any better ideas?

Windows XP can do it via a built in tool, I've just installed a 500Gb Western Digital external drive and formatted it to NTFS from FAT32 before use just so that I didn't run into this problem.

Details on how to do it are here:

EDIT: DO NOT REFORMAT A DRIVE BEFORE BACKING UP ITS CONTENTS!!!! That's stated in that link but thought I'd better reiterate that.
