i serious need good help plz

so the thing is i just got ps3 60 gb
i need to know how file server works, i tried to do it
any file i select in the end it tell me 401 error
wht is the problem i am not download any file
and i dont get what link do we have to open on my ps3

Have you read the tutorials available on this site yet? Which unit were you on when you got the 401, your PC or the PS3? What file are you referring to that you are not downloading? As to what link you use to open on the PS3, I think the answer is you enter the ip address into the PS3 browser. You get this address from the small box that opens when you open Media Center X. Don't forget to launch it with the button in the small box before you use the PS3 browser.

What is it you are referring to, the 401 error? Try to be specific as to what you are attempting at that point and what you have done up to that point. I can not understand what address you are attempting to access on both PC and PS3 that you would get a 401.

ok let me explain
i selected a picture from my computer on red kawa file server and u know how the picture had a name so i i click on the one i want to send on my ps3, ok so u know how we click on ti and some thing is suppost to happen but in my case there is 401 error saying unauthorized entery

so i decided i should try on my ps3 so i get the ip address and start browsing and this time i did two test, first the same picture i tried to browse on my pc an d sedind on was a diffirent picture
but both of the time it says could not display the page
now wht should i do ??

Check your Approved Directories. You should not be getting a 401 when you're on your PC.
Try this from your PC
1. Insure one of your approved directories is C:\Program Files\Red Kawa
2. Load some jpg pics in C:\Program Files\Red Kawa\Media Center\software\Pictures\images
3. Click on My Pictures from the Media Center X Start Page. It should show an icon and name for each picture you loaded.
4. Click on one and the picture should open.

Let's get past the 401 you're getting on your PC first. Post back on what happens.
To check your approved directories in 1. above click Settings on the Start page then Software on the left then Edit Settings on the left then the underlined click here on the right.

You mean to say if you go to My Computer>Program Files>Red Kawa you don't have a subfolder called Media Center?

Ha ha. He doesn't have media center X installed,and neither do I. Here is your problem. As son as you go to the page, you should get a black screen which shows a link to C: and a link to SETTINGS. Click on SETTINGS. Where it shows the directories, make sure it says C:\ NOT C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS\. Your problemo is fixed.
