I have a quite big problem with my PSP videos.

Problem is, at i can't watch my videos.
When i try put videos on my PSP, then a) Video is not there or b) Video is "unsupported data".
I have tried put my videos to folder VIDEO, PSP/VIDEO, VIDEOS, PSP/VIDEOS, MP_ROOT, MP_ROOT/100MNV01 and so on.

I have allso tried all PSP videoformats and types (MP4 XXX-XXX, XXXkbps, AVC etc),
Convert works, video will found in Library and then i move that to device, or put that there in manually.

In videoformat i have tried MPG, FLV, AVI, but nothing works.

I really need help!

PSP versionumber is 3.30.
PSP Video versionumber is 2.17.

VIDEO and MP_ROOT/100MNV01 are the only two directories (and one more that goes into the MP_ROOT/100XXXXX directory) that you should worry about. If your fw is 3.30 or above, the VIDEO is the only thing you should worry about.

There is a lot of information in this forum about unsupported data, do a search on it.

When you say nothing works, what exactly is happening? You hit the convert button and it goes complete right away?

Video converting works fine.
Video will found in "Local Files", and filesize is right, about 30mb.
That video's "first type" is .flv.
Converttype is AVC 480x720 768kbps Stereo / 128kbps.
Then i click "copy to device" (and folder is E:/VIDEO).
That allso works fine, video will found in right folder, but it doesn't found in
"Device files".
Then i go video place in my PSP.
There is my video, but it's "Unsupported data". Videosize is still right, 30mb.
What convertype i need, at my videos will work right in PSP?

I was having many similar problems. I could convert video fine (1 pass at least) in psp video 9 (2.17 using 768k 480x272 profile). However, in trying to view it on my psp (firmware 3.40), nothing worked. It would either not show, or come up as unsupported data. I tried numerous configurations of where to place the files or how to encode them. I looked up video files people were hosting on the web as psp video files, hoping that I might get at least something to work, even if not my own converted home videos.

Go here. At sony's website for the PSP, they offer "conent packs" with trailers and whatnot. I installed one of them to see if sony's own video would work, and it did. Better yet, it created folders for video and pictures in the base directory and must have told the psp to recognize them. Inside the folders were files named regularly, no more odd legacy numberings. I dragged over several of my own video clips and they seemed to play fine. I then deleted all the trailers and other garbage leaving only the working folder hierarchy.

Alternatively, you can format your memory stick using the PSP's tools. This will put in those directories for you. (and wipe the card in the process). I'd make sure you are using Firmware 3.3 though, as I believe that Video folder started with it...

That's kind of strange that the content pack would "fix" your issue. A Simple format of your memory stick should've done the same thing as I use it all the time if I ever forget what's supposed to go where.
