First Skin

I made a skin for this app.(xmas skin :eek: )

Extract it to core/skins of your Wii MCE dir. :)
its not much but if anyone has a better skin please post.

Those are pretty cool, I just took my apple icons I found on my computer and replaced a bunch of the .png's for the media stuff (like the iMovie icon, iTunes icon, etc...) I also replaced that ugly "START" title with the Wii logo. I had difficulty changing the background, because it seems you are limited to a small horizontal strip that duplicates itself (like a gradient from left to right). All in all, I enjoyed modding the graphics, I hope people figure out how to do some big mods. Obviously, I won't be posting the files for this due to possible legal issues, but here are some pics...:cool:

That's verry nice :), about the background, it's not that difficult, you must go to your CSS file, to change the line in this directory: C:\Program Files\Red Kawa\Media Center\core\skins\Default\css. The name from the CSS file in that folder is 480.css, open that file and change the line background-repeat:repeat-y; <-- to -->background-repeat: no-repeat;.

The code look like this:

background-image: url('../images/480/background.png');
background-color:#0f2656;
background-repeat: no-repeat;
background-attachment: fixed;
margin:0;

Than you can put a background image you have design, look at my skin here below:

here's mine:<br>i vector traced the Wii logo in order to resize it, and i replaced the selection bar with my own custom-made Wii button bar. the vector of Mikuru(the girl in the background) was done by Anonymous on 4chan. if anyone wants the files tell me which ones and maybe I'll rapidshare em. oh, I can not help you by that, becuase I don't have my Wii Lan Adaptor yet, I have preorder it, It's avalaible 12 januari here in the Netherlands, When I have it, I let then everyone here on the forum know, how it works, and what I have do to let it works. mark on my words. :)

i just went to my wii to check out how it looked and the bottom of the screen was right in the middle of the letters "KER" it would also take a while to load the layout, at first it would show the default then a few seconds later show the new layout

i havent tried installing someone elses skin so i dont know about that, however for your own just go to the program files of the media center and there should be folders called Skins and just go in there and change things up a bit, maybe the icons or their colors or if you know a bit of css which isnt hard to comprehend you can change a few more things around

lol, one quick little tip about that: the Wii's browser resolution is 800x600, minus 100 pixels at the bottom of the screen for the browser buttons. so it's good to make sure what you want to see is within 800x500 pixels. ^_^

i would love to know aswell how you make your own skins for the WMCX.
i'm new to this kind of playing around with softwares so if anyone would be kind to pm me with some directions i would be thankful..
