There are several ways to get your video to your PS3. memory card is probably the stranded one people here use. I know red kawa has a Small Http server program that lets you have a directly on your computer that your ps3 can browse to so you can download your videos. One of the best Universal ones for the PS3 (both 60 and 20 versions) is a USB Keydrive. I have not personally Burned CD's, DVD's, or Blue ray Disks but data disks should work (Now I did have some problems with my DVD-R's that had MP3's on them not being read) Ohh and the last one is any other usb mass storage device iPod, hard drive, digital camera. Could also work with various reasons of WTF if you where using a digital camera as a card reader for your ps3.
There are lots of choices. now from those what sounds like the one you can use.
Basic directions
Make a Directory named video on the root of what ever device you are going to use.
in the settings area, on the ps3 tab Set the device folder to that directory you just made.
Then you can go to the Library area and click the ps3.
Select the file(s) you want to copy to the device
click the copy to device button.
You should then be able to take your device to the ps3 when it is done copying
You should then use your device as a USB device or memory card depending on what you used. on your ps3
Start your movie, sit back and enjoy.
