Does anyone know if it is possible to add files to itunes as a TV show rather than a movie - together with series and episode information - rather than change manually once added?
If not is this something possible for a future release?

As far as I know, you have to edit the info in iTunes. If no show title is listed, they won't even show up on the iPod.

there are 2 applications that edit the tags, but i forget what they were called

To the best of my knowledge, Show, Episode Title, Episode Number and Season Number are not legitimate mp4 tags. I'm not sure how iTunes handles them but they seem to be different from other files.

try YAMB 1.6. go to options -> general -> tagger -> enable tagger tab
then go to the Tagger tab.
seems to work for me.

Evidently, Apple does not use the standard meta atom for tags. They use a "udta" atom with utf-8 tags.

I use TVTagger (uses AtomicParsley). But there is no way to set this automatically before converting.

that was the one. knew it was called Tagger.
