SMP/multi-core Support?

First off, I'm very impressed with the Xbox 360 converter. The quality of the conversion is absolutely fantastic compared to some other solutions I've tried, and it's very easy to use. Great job!

I was just curious whether the encoder used supports multi-core CPUs or SMP systems. I'm doing a computer upgrade soonish, and I was curious whether I could expect an increase in the speed of the encoding by moving to a quad-core CPU (from a single-core CPU).

Yes it is supported, there is a threads option when you edit each profile. You should definitely get some sort of speed boost with a dual or quad core compared to encoding with a single core cpu.

Every time i try to enable more than one thread it choke up on me. It only happens with the Mpeg2 modes.

Are you using a smp capable ffmpeg? If not, google for it and replace. Remember to backup first.
