View Full Version : cant get xbox 360 converter to work
i select the avi file and start the converter process and when its complete i locate the converted file and transfer it to my media center and when i try to run my file on my 360 it wont run. it says it might not have the right codec or the file might be corrupted but it will work on my pc media center. can any one help.

I'm having the same problem. I've tried a lot of the conversions but can't seem to find the right format!!!
I've been trying the mpeg2 but im receiving the same error!! "File error"
This is been quite frustrating. I'm sure Im not the only one, can somebody tell me what the heck is going on?:confused:

The WMV format is pretty much the only format guaranteed to work. Supposedly, h264 and a mp4 are supported, however I haven't yet found the magic encoding combo that works. I've been using VLC and some scripts to convert my AVIs, but the 360 doesn't interpret the aspect ratio correctly, so I'm trying to get Videora working right. Windows Media Encoder 9 gives the best results if you're a very patient tinkerer as it's not exactly easy to use....
