Hi All,
I have the Matrix DVD in letterbox Widescreen format. I am trying to encode the movie to fill the entire ipod screen. Using the default options, the movie is encoded and plays on the ipod with the black bars at the top and the bottom. I turned off Widescreen setting in my iPod.
Is there anyway to remove the bars, crop, etc. with Videora. I am not sure what to choose for the crop settings (I think this should do it)? Is there an option to stretch the image without losing any image (stretching is fine with me)
Suggestions are welcome.!!!
Thanks!!

Changing 16:9 (1.78) is usually just a matter of resizing. Unfortunately The Matrix is not in 16:9. It was shot in 2.35 and the video for the wider aspect ratio will include black bars (16:9 usually doesn't). You will need to crop the bars off, resize the video and then deal with changing the inherited display aspect ratio... and when you're done everything will be freakishly stretched. Good luck.

AVS Maker can do this, but it will be "freakishly stretched"
Just select the option iPod Fullscreen for resizing. You can do it in Videora, but there are many more steps

Thanks guy. I think AVS Maker will do the trick (finally.. a software that has this option!)
I'll see how "freakishly" stretched it looks on the ipod. :)
Also, how did you figure out that the Matrix was shot in 2.35:1? (besides looking it up.. is it on back of the box or something?)
Thanks :)

you could just encode it in widescreen, then select the Widescreen option in the Video ->Video Settings->Widescreen: off and it will be fullscreen.

No. It won't. Some information will be missing from the sides and there will still be narrow (narrower) letterboxing stripes at the top and bottom.

Thanks guys.
I finally figured out how to do this thanks to AVS Maker + Videora!!!
I was able to make a D2V file, load video, and audio; preview to make sure the correct video + audio played;set the crop setting, resized teh video to full screen ipod, save the avs , and finally load the avs in videora for conversion!
The image is a bit stretched vertically, but I don't mind. :)
Thanks again!!!
