I cannot get this program to convert a DVD in one file. Is there a way of doing it or do you need to make several files. It seems kinda dumb it won't do the entire movie in one file.

it's not PSP Video 9's fault. Your DVDs were already in multiple files to begin with. You need to use a DVD ripping program and then merge them together. Once you do that it should be easier from there.

However, other programs recognize the DVD files as one DVD and allow me to pick the movie. So I understand that I have different files, but would like to know why can't video 9 recognize a DVD.

I think the difference is these programs will recognize DVDs Video 9 will only recognize VOB files. Even though DVDs use VOB files, video 9 does not recognize a DVD. This is true as to weather it is a copy or non copy protected DVD.

I gues this is a feature that is needed. Video 9 should be able to recognize non-copy protected DVDs and not just the VOB file.

ya i know one program that does that too, only problem is, the subtitle feature of it is broken so everything I do is pretty much the "hard" way. Unfortunatly ripping the DVD and disabling file splitting is one method for this case and not everyone has the hard drive space to do so. *shrugs*

IMO you should do it that anyways as those programs will remove macrovision anyways.

im new to posting, so if im breaking rules dropping different program names, im sorry!

dvd decrypter will allow you to merge the 3-4 vob files into one single vob file. if you are able to find this freeware, go into ifo settings, and change file splitting to none. convert, and you have a single vob file.

you could also use the newest versions of nero, but chances are, any dvd you try to convert will have security features preventing you from merging the files.

also, google pspvc . this is another converter. it has tutorials, etc. teaching you how to do this.

im still partial to pspvideo9. if i could find a way to contribute to its development, i would.

That program should be able to do more than 3-4 VOBs :D
