in your ipod, go to Videos -> Video Settings:
TV Out: Off
Widescreen: On (not necessary, but it's good to make sure it's set)

the tv Out was already off and the widescreen was already on

Is it only happening to one video or all of them? Please post a log.

MSG - Converter - Automatically Resizing Resolution
MSG - Converter - New Width:320 | New Height: 218
You need to turn off autoresizing and manually resize this particular file to 320x240.

f iy's truely locked up... try holding the center & menu buttons simultaneously for about 20 seconds. it will reset the iPod... it will also erase all contents. But it may be your only hope. I had that problem once after trying a piece of 3rd party software that was supposed to let me upload and download files from my iPod. It locked it up good.
Be sure to check that the Hold button isn't turned on first!
