Hi guys, I'm new to the forum and to putting video on my PSP.
I have got the latest firmware 3.5
Since I've only recently started using the video function I have a few questions about the maths involved.
I'll use Point Break as an example.
It is 720x576 frame size, and is presented in 16:9.
Thus the stretchiness factor is:
(576x16)/(720x9) = 1.422222
Furthermore I have worked out that the black bar sizes above and below my pic are the following:
Top - 70
Bottom - 69 (rounded up in below maths)
Therefore my film is infact:
720x436
Furthermore this means:
720/436x1.42222 = 2.3486..
This means that the aspect ratio comes out close to 2:35:1
Now my problem is quite simply using all this info how can I use PSPvideo9 2.17 to encode my movie at 480x272 or another 720x480.
I don't want my movie looking stretched.
Do I simply use 720x480 and crop my pic from the top and bottom by 48 pixels to make it a equivalent NTSC version (576-480=96. 96/2=48).
Please help me understand.
Thanks so much, Charlie Boy.
