So I stopped using the Users folder in Vista. Took 3 converted files that would not add to iTunes from the Users folder and moved them to under c:/. Two of them would add then, the other still said it could not add and gave me a bad atom when trying to open in QT. I reripped it and reconverted it, same problem. Yet, if I copy it onto a XP machine that same file will add to iTunes and play in QT, so it is not a file problem. Any ideas?

Vista and Quicktime running on Vista are quirky. But the Users folder issue is valid. That alone solved 2/3 of your problem. It may not get any better than that until Apple and Microsoft solve their own issues.

But now it won't work in any folder. So when I first started, 3 videos workes in the User folder and then stopped. Now 2 movies worked in the non User folders and then stopped. So it worked in both places and stopped in both places.

Here ia another forum that may help, I just don't understand how to do it. Take a look and let me know if anyone understands what to do. I will try it out and post my results. This could be the fix we are looking for in Vista.
