Thats weid. I'd try reinstalling it to see if it fixes the problem.

I think you're having the same issues as I've posted. If you check Computer Management, Event Viewer / Application Log, you should see Type: Error, Source: .NET Runtime 2.0 Error Reporting. This happened to me recently when I performed a Windows Update and got the latest in .NET updates. I'm now sitting at .NET 3.0 - but 1.1 & 2.0 are listed in Add/Remove Programs as well.

Tried uninstalling .NET 3.0 & 2.0 - same error.
Tried re-installing Videora - same error.
Tried re-installing .NET 3.0 - same error.
Tried uninstalling - reboot - install Videora - same error.

MS posted an article on how to resolve this issue - 911816 but this didn't seem to help.

Good luck,

That knowledgebase article doesn't refer to this problem, it is something else.

I'm having issues with Videora 2.25 on Vista x64 Ultimate, it won't start, gives the "This program has stopped working" box when trying to run it. 2.23 works fine.

I'm thinking of instaling XP SP2 dual boot and running it through there, unless anyone knows of a fix?

Thanks JamieF, I appreciate the response. You are of course correct, the article does not specifically pertain to Videora and .NET 2.0. However, based on extensive research, this article is the closest match I could find based on the behavior I was witnessing. At any rate, the resolution posted didn't do squat to help. :)

Since the date of my original post, I've uninstalled Videora and not looked back. However, out of curiosity, I just re-installed version 2.23.0.0, ran it and began conversion. Apparently something has changed between now and when I originally posted, more than likely with my system. But hell, I couldn't tell you what. When I originally encountered this issue, I tried, system drivers, video drivers, removed all codecs, re-installed Windows stock codecs, then eventually, third party codecs, all in repeatedly failed attempts. Not sure what has changed, wish I knew but happy it works now.

Good luck,

C

I can get 2.23 to work (mostly) fine under Vista - have issues with a few files (using MKV passthrough), which I could work around with MKVExtract and MKVMerge, but I thought the MKV Passthrough might work somewhat better in 2.25 rather than doing it manually. I think I'll setup a virtual machine with XP SP2 and try 2.25 in that and see how it goes. Failing that I'll roll back to 2.23 on Vista and just manually extract the problem ones (although I'd rather not have to!!) :)
