Welcome to Darwin!

When I open the url in safari, everything works fine. Then, I go to the opera broswer on the wii. I put in the address, but nothing happens! I've tried restarting the wii, terminal, the broswer, but it still won't go!

I put in the url, and literally nothing happens...

Something interesting though, whenever I go to the address in safari, it redirects me to http://(my ip)/software/music/

anyone else have this problem? Help would be GREATLY appreciated...:(

i dunno if this helps but here's the number of digits my ip address has ***.***.**.*:8192

I saw in another thread that if you go to sharing preferences and turn on personal file sharing, that it should fix the problem. i did this, and it still doesn't work... does anyone have any suggestions?

I think your OSX firewall is getting in the way. Try this:

Open the System Preferences
Click the 'Sharing' icon in the 'Internet & Network' section
Click on 'Firewall' and in that section, click the 'New...' button
Click the 'Port Name:' dropdown and select 'Other'
Type in 8192 for both TCP and UDP Port Number fields and give it a description like "Wii Media Center"
Click 'OK' and now you should be able to access it through the Opera Browser

Hope that works for you. As for me, I'm getting that "failed SocketConnector" terminal error that some of the others have :(

Booyakasha! I solved my failed SocketConnector problem!

I think there might be some kind of port conflict on 8192. I opened up the webserver.prop file and changed the ListenSocket to a different port (8194 worked for me). Then updated my OS X firewall settings (see above) to allow port 8194, restarted the mediacenter.jar applet, and voila... it works!

This also worked for me. This should be included in all OSX documentation, and should be considered a fatal bug by the developers.
