Changing settings from Mpeg4 to Mpeg2

I have tried to convert a movie from mkv to mpeg2, but even when I change the settings from mpeg 4 to mpeg2 it doesnt work and the converted file is still mpeg4. Can somebody point me in the right direction, I am a noob when it comes to converting these file and using this program

i think ur doing wot i em doing.im rencoding mkv hd movies to mpeg2 to play on 360.

i have reencoded a sample file that was in mkv x.264,make sure you switch the encode to 720p mpeg2,which im sure you have.you will notice once you load the file and start converting that to the right of the page it will have edit queue item and it will say mpeg4 480p.thats not wot its gonna come out as tho.i dont know why it says that,maybe if you have list of stuff that is needed to convert.when i first started i thought it was gonna come out as that.but since i only did a sample and that took like 25 mins for a 50mb sample.

after the sample was done i then used converterxtodvd to put it to disc,then i put it into the 360 and it lookt like it would on my pc.i em now doing hackers in hd and my pc has been encoding for 12 hours now.it said 2 minutes left,but the progress bar was only half way done and now it says 23 mor hours left.i sure hope it all comes out okay.

although if i can remember i put the shining hd in converterxtodvd and it took 2 hours to do then i put it onto disc,but the picture wasnt as detailed as it was on my pc.so im hopeing all this time going into the encoding hackers that it comes out like the sample file.im sure it will.

Edit:i did put the shinning hd back into pc to see how it would look and it lookt like shite lol.so its best to use videora then use converterxtodvd to put to disc.
