I go to the select file window and look for a certain video, but it isn't there and then I explore the location where the videos are being stored and it's there but I can't see or select the file, could someone tell how to fix it please

Are you using Vista? If so, click the File compatibilities button...

Is this just in ViC or in every application? Are you able to play them at all?

Try changing the extension from .mpeg to .mpg

If that doesn't work, get your files out of Documents and Settings.

Your operating system is setup to hide file extensions.

You've never posted a log. I don't even know what OS you use.

In Windows 2000 (and more recent):
- select Start | Settings | Control Panels | Folder Options
- select the View tab
- check "show hidden files and folders"
- UNcheck "hide file extensions for known file types"
- Click OK to finish
