Black screen goes grey...why?

I have been converting tons of videos using Videora iPod, Apple TV, and iPhone converters. I have used a variety of different settings. Most of my videos share a common problem: when the video is supposed to be fully black (like during closing credits), the screen actually goes grey and blocks up. Once the video goes back to a more colorful scene, the image will clear up as well.

Can you help me figure out how to stop this? Its not a big issue but its kind of annoying.

It seems to happen on some sysyems. I'm not sure why. The cure with ViC seems to be using mpeg-4, rather than h.264, profiles.
