I ripped, decrypted and converted three times, following the instructions verbatim, but for some reason it ends up in Spanish in itunes and (obviously) the ipod. Any ideas? I've read the numerous posts with the same concern, and the answer always seemed to be a do-over. thus the re-re-rip, etc,
I'll do the code posting thing in a minute.

The answer is always the same. Either you are ripping multiple audio streams... or you're only ripping one and it's spanish. The only fix is to rip the DVD again properly.

Gotchya. WILCO.
One other question, which now that I think about it, might be the source of my quandry...In the tutorial, step 5 it says to check the 1st video listed. then goes on about only being able to have one type of audio. The 2nd pic shows both the video and 1st audio file boxes checked although no mention of actually selecting the audio. Common sense says this has to have an audio file selected, so I followed that logic.
My Decrypter window looks the same as the tutorial, and I'm sure it did before also (the 1st and only video box and the 1st (and only) audio box selected (every other box is subtitle)).
This is the only thing I can think of.
thanx tons

I don't follow the confusion... the second pic clearly shows one video and one audio stream selected... as opposed to the first, which shows one video, two audio and four subtilte streams selected.

Yup. Same here. The second pic is exactly how mine looks (and looked) prior to going to Decrypt mode.
My GUI being a bit different than the tutorial for the Converter wouldn't matter would it?
The tutorial says to "Transcode" my Videora says "Convert" .
Grasping at straws here.

The tutorial was done with a very old version of the program. There are a couple of caveats: there's no rule that says the first audio stream has to be english. It almost always is... but doesn't have to be. Also, some copy protection schemes play games with the audio streams. Disney comes to mind for some reason.

Hmmm. I wonder if that could be the culprit. This isn't a Disney Production (Polar Express - Castle Rock & WB). But I wonder. English is the only audio option available, but I suppose they could have "switched" with one of the subtitle files, right? But how would a regular DVD player be able to make the determination that say to play the movie in English it must turn on the Spanish subtitles instead,
I dunno.
I'll try a different flick and report back.
Thanks for the help. I would assume you have more fun things to do with your Sunday mornings.

That would be the whole point of copy protection... allowing a DVD player to play it while confounding your attempts to rip it...

Farging Bastages!!!
Picked a different flick and low and behold it works perfect!!
Thanks for all the patience. Guess that'll be one for the Red Kawa smart guys/gals to look at for a work around.
Good product, good forum!

I thing I like to suggest here is a different DVD ripper: DVD Fab HD Decrypter from dvdidle.com; the "main movie" feature is similar to IFO mode.
