Do the movies play in Quicktime?
Can you post a conversion log, please?

no, the videos do not play in quicktime. the quicktime video window will open then close with a similar error message
although i noticed the videos are automatically sent to the itunes library after they are converted and sync with my ipod, but i can't preview the video before i put it on my ipod in itunes or quicktime?
if i wanted to check to make sure the video and audio are in sync i am not able to view it in quicktime before i sync with my ipod
heres a log...

I don't see anything wrong initially. Have you tried reinstalling Quicktime, seems like they've been having problems with users on Windows Vista.

I would suggest getting your source file out of the Users folder and creating the converted file elsewhere... and renaming the file to get rid of the parenthesis.

Using an AVISynth profile for non-DVD rips may help as well. The caveat with that is that the original video has to play correctly in Windows Media Player.
