The "-threads #" option Put in the Custom flags box of the encoding profile with # being the number of Cores/CPU's you have times 2 for Hyper threading. Tested difference between 1 thread and 2 threads on a 2 core cpu is about 33% improvement in encoding time.

Notes to Dev team.
I don't claim to know the details of the programing involved to make this all work. But I would think that it would be easy to add a # of threads option to the Converter tab in settings and use that as a modifier to all encoding jobs, like you currently have with process priority. Or what it would take to add this as an option to the encoding profile. Or at least Sticky this so that it can be found easily

In response to the other topic.

Now XerXes is that 70% went to video 9 or that only 70% of your CPU was used. if it is that 70% of your total cpu was used then something is odd there, but if 70% was going to video 9 but 100% of your cpu was being used that is normal if you have other things going on your computer.

Even when im playing Elder scroles obvlivion with everything maxed out Im only using between 60 and 70 percent my total cpu power. A program must be written to take advantage of the aditional cores or threads. Quake 4 does do that to a point but doesnt fair well with hyper threading since HT is just just an extra logical processor and not a physical processor. Windows Vista is supposed to take advantage of more cores and hyper threading.
