So After reviewing the blogs from a previous thread and downloading the codec (I can't remember the exact name b/c I was asked to start a new thread, however, I think it was Nimec B9B1 or something like that), and going back to enable the console. I copied the settings as instructed, however, did not know where they should be pasted so I pasted them back into the same location the log was generated. That still left me with a lot of leftover computer language which I deleted. However, after following the instructions the way I interpreted them, I still could not transfer this particular movie over to itunes. AND... every time I try, itunes freezes up. what should I do next?

I have been able to copy only one movie so far to itunes without problems. All the rest cause the problems noted above and itunes stops responding.

Until you can figure out how to paste text from the console log into THIS window where you normally TYPE your message text... there isn't much we can do for you.

Yeah, let's start over. Post a console log of your problem conversion, and we'll go from there.

I reviewed your responses to me...I had already seen the information in the first response so had been doing what was requested. In the second email, I had attempted that as well however, am fine with giving it another try if it will get the software to work. As requested, I copied up to "frame=":

You have two audio streams in your rip. You'll have to fix that.

So all I need to do is delete the audio streams? Do I need to delete these streams everytime I try to convert a video? Just this one time? Thanks for your help...

You would need to rerip the DVD... deselecting all but the one audio stream you want... prior to ripping.

So I tried to re-rip as was suggested and deselected all but 1 audio stream. This time, when I got to the point of converting the video, I received a message that said, "Your converted video could not be created in the specified directory". I am not sure what this means. I was able to rip a video and convert it before, finally downloading it onto my ipod. However, since then, I have run into problems and I have tried many times with more than one video.

You're running Vista and may have user rights issues. Try creating the file somewhere else... not in the "specified directory".. out of the "Users" folder. That would be Step #1 in my Survival Rules below...

That helped. I can now convert movies again. I am storing them on the desktop of the user with administration rights adn it is working fine. Thanks!:)
