Am I missing something here?!

I have added a file (.avi) to the converter but nothing is happening. Am I being really stupid here and missing something?

I have used both the wizard and added a file manually- I can add and remove files and edit the conversion settings but no conversion takes place and the progress bar does nothing! Is there a 'Convert' button that I'm missing (I have hit 'apply' and 'convert video' but it just says 'No active conversion'.

Apologies if I'm being really daft here but any help would be appreciated!

try a different file (possibly a different extension). Mine does that with me when I try to convert this .mkv I have. When I click convert it says converting and then it stops as if it is done. On the output folder I just have a 0kb .mp4 file with the same filename as the source. Other videos convert fine though (except for .divx files).
I wonder if anybody out there can help us both with this problem? I would really like to play this movie in HD on my 360!!! :)
