So... after several installs (from 3.0, to 3.01), i was finally able to get some divx avi's to convert.

I did the same movie in MPEG and H264.

Both finally converted. Both loaded into iTunes, and both played successfully in iTunes. But only the MPEG one will load on my iPhone.

I have iTunes 7.4, iPhone 1.0.2

Is there something obvious I'm missing?

So... did some more digging and it still isn't loading to iPHone.

But when in itunes if I right click and choose convert to appletv, it says it's already in the correct format.

And when I choose convert to ipod, it seems to start doing something, but I haven't waited it out yet.

I do have some purchased tv shows that loaded and work fine (i assume those use the same/similar codec?)

We would suggest converting your video with different encoding settings (video size, quality, etc.) and seeing what works.

If you are still having issues, you may want to post a console log.

I am having the same problem. When I check in iTunes it says the video size is 720x480 rather than 320x480. I have tried a number of the automatic iPhone settings, as well as advance with auto resize and a maximum resolution of 320x480. When I manually set the size to 320x 480 however it will load on the phone and play, but it has a bar of lights on the right rather than a black bar.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.. Thanks!

I'm having the same problem as vtguy22. Finally got one to to load onto the iPhone (mpeg4, 768kbit/s, forced 480x320 and 30fps). I get an approximately 30 pixels wide green bar on the right hand of the video.

There were a few issues with converting to H.264 at 480x320 in earlier versions. These issues should now be fixed in version 3.04.

Thanks, working great now!
