I select the file created by DVD Decrypter to convert and I get "VideoInfo has stopped working".
What do I do from here?

Console Reads:
EXEC: C:\Program Files (x86)\Red Kawa\Video Converter 3\Tools\VideoInfo\VideoInfo.exe "C:\Users\Mike\Videos\VTS_04_1.VOB"

VideoInfo Tool 3.0

Hmm... what is it supposed to be? I'm wondering why it ended up being VTS_04... and not a lower number...

No matter what file type I try, I also get the "VideoInfo has stopped working and must close" error.

Videora doesn't actually close when "Ok" is clicked, but when I finally do close it, I get a "Program Compatibility Assistant" dialog stating that RKVideoConverter.exe requires flash.ocx and has me download a new version of Flash.

Updating Flash does not resolve the issue.

I hope that sheds some more light on the problem.

The same here.
Downloading a new flash did not resolve here either.

First off, some questions:
What OS are you using?
Do you know if it is 32-bit or 64-bit version?
Does this happen for every single video your tried? avi? vob? etc?

Second off, Error Timeline:
1. Convert File
2. "VideoInfo has stopped working and must close" box pops up
3. Conversion never starts
4. Close Converter and get "Program Compatibility Assistant" box asking for flash.ocx

Is that correct?

Third off, MediaInfo:
There seems to be an issue with MediaInfo.
Could you please download the standalone version from here:
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=86862&package_id=90341
And then try opening the same video files (that didn't work in the converter) with MediaInfo. Let us know if you get a similar problem.

FIRST:
1. Vista x64 - Ultimate
2. Yes, every time & program type.

SECOND
1. Yes - you are correct.

And... the really important THIRD??

We have a hunch that this is a 64-bit Windows issue.
We could probably confirm this if walexand chimed in on his CPU/OS version.

We are aware that there is a separate 32-bit and 64-bit MediaInfo dlls. We assumed the 32-bit dlls would run fine on 64-bit machines but this might not be the case.

In the next version we will catch the exception so you at least should be able to convert the video (even without the video details). We will wait until other 64-bit users chime in before doing anything else.

I'm also running Vista 64 / Ultimate.

I tried downloading and running the standalone version of MediaInfo v0.7.5.2 32-bit. The standalone works, but the converter still crashes.

The error timeline is exactly as RedKawa described, and occurs with all media types I've tried, which are AVI's of several persuasions, MPG's and WMV.

Can you try this:

Download MediaInfo_0.7.5.2_DLL_Windows_x64.zip (http://downloads.sourceforge.net/mediainfo/MediaInfo_0.7.5.2_DLL_Windows_x64.zip?modtime=1187 318335&big_mirror=0) from here:
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=86862&package_id=90614

Extract the Zip
Copy MediaInfo.dll to C:\Program Files\Red Kawa\Video Converter 3\Tools\VideoInfo

And then try the converter again?

Works perfectly now.

Thank you.

I have a hunch that it is not a 64-bit vista / windows problem. I have 32-bit and I get the same error. I really want to get Azumanga Daioh on my iPod, it's a bit of a bummer that I can't select them in the converter.

Edit: I'm sorry, I read the "Can you try this". I'm going to test out the 64x version. Who knows, it might work.
Edit 2: I think it's just because I uninstalled AviSynth not knowing it went with this. Whoops, I'll reinstall Videora.

I was having the exact same problem as described. I am using a new machine just built last week with Vista 64 Home Premium. It was locking up when trying to convert exactly as the other user described, every time, file type didn't matter. When installing the new .dll as described under my tools folder, it fixed it.

Thanks! I am particularly pleased to have found this fix, as I installed a Gigabyte RAMDISK with (4) gigs of RAM in a PCI slot, to test the conversion speed of Videora. Sure enough, it just converted a 90 minute long AVI in 32 minutes, at the highest settings, something that used to take a few hours using mechanical hard drives.

Very nice!

Can you try this:

Download MediaInfo_0.7.5.2_DLL_Windows_x64.zip from here:
http://sourceforge.net/project/showf...ckage_id=90614

Extract the Zip
Copy MediaInfo.dll to C:\Program Files\Red Kawa\Video Converter 3\Tools\VideoInfo

And then try the converter again?

I'm having the exact same problem with the program since I went from xp to vista 64 ultimate. I'm using 4.01 so I put it into the following:
c:\Program Files (x86)\Red Kawa\Video Converter App\Tools\VideoInfo

I no longer get the error when Videora Ipod Converter is open but I get it everytime I close the program. Any suggestions for what I could be doing wrong?

I just want to chime in with my own recent experience with this message. I've been using Videora for iPod classic since we were recently stationed to Japan. Its been an absolute lifesaver for us. I download television shows we can't receive here and are barred from watching online due to our Japanese IP. We arrived in June and I have been using this program (i love it) on a Vista 32 bit computer with absolutely no problems. I plan to donate.

My husband bought me a new, much faster computer (I also play online games like Warhammer, Planetside and Everquest2) and this one is a Vista 64-bit, 2.6mhz quad core with 8 gigs of ram. I installed Videora as soon as I had backed up my iTunes on it.

I began receiving the 'Videora has stopped working' message on my first conversion. I also noted that it wasn't able to place the files I converted into iTunes and when I tried to manually do so, iTunes refused to accept them (although with no error message, nothing happened at all, they just would not show up in my library). The windows Compatability Assistant told me I needed a flash.ocx file and to download the newest Adobe Flash program. So I did that. Still wasn't working even after a couple of reboots to make sure the install had taken. I tried to place the mediainfo.dll file in the folder and saw that there was already a file by that name there, so I abandoned that solution.

After reading this forum I tried a few things and finally found something that worked for me.

I am very new to conversion processes, so I use the automated 'Normal Mode'. When I select a file for conversion, I am still receiving the "Videora has stopped working message" but I just hit cancel and carry on with the conversion process. What helped me get these files to be able to be added to iTunes (some make it in automatically, some I add on my own but the majority seem to add just fine)-- I choose 'Old' for format instead of 'New'. My other settings are 'TV' (we hook the iPod to our tv to watch as a family), 'Best Video' and "High" for audio quality.

After choosing that, I hit Start Conversion and I will get another 'Viideoinfo has stopped working message' and I hit cancel in the box for it (it says Windows is looking for a solution). My conversion process continues just fine, even with more than one file in queue. Also, this evening, as I set up four shows for conversion, I noticed that after the first conversion was set up, I only received the "Videoinfo has stopped working' message after selecting the file I want to convert, and not again when hitting 'Start Conversion' for the later files. NOt sure why, but was nice to only have to shut one box for those later ones.

I just wanted to report this in case it could help in some way filtering out this bug for later releases. I'll check back if there are any questions.
