I successfully converted a video in mpeg format (from tivo via DSD) using the new ipod classic converter, and it gave me a nice result with decent graphics quality and great sound, except the aspect ratio is way off. The resulting video when played no my ipod classic is taller than it is wide, and there are wide black areas on either side. I realize (I think) that a 4:3 aspect ratio (for TV shows) should have small black areas on either side when played on the ipod's wider screen. But this is actually scrunched smaller (narrower) than it should be even for TV. My rough measurement of the displayed video gives about 28mm wide by 37mm high, but I'm not math-savvy enough to figure out what that translates to in terms of aspect ratio. (BTW, the mpeg video plays just fine on my computer, giving about 195mm wide by 145mm high on my computer screen.) Is there some way to control the resulting aspect ratio format in the conversion process? Any advice appreciated.
Thanks,
Tom
