View Full Version : Combining Video Files
I recently ripped some DVD files from (obviously) a DVD. The ripped files are .VOB.
Unfortunately, these VOB files never exceed 1GB in size, but this results in files that only hold around 23 minutes of a 30 minute episode.
The other 7 minutes are there, just as a separate file. So, is there any way I can combine the 2 files, either while they are VOB's or once they have been converted to MPEG4's?
Thanks for your help, Jack :D

You should turn file splitting off in whatever you're ripping with so you don't have to deal with this. DVD Shrink will combine them after they have been ripped... IF you turn file splitting off in that TOO... but you will suffer some more loss... even if you specify a dual layer target size.
If I turn off any compression settings in DVD Shrink, will I still suffer any loss?
Also, do you know of any software with which I can edit the files once they are in MPEG4 format? They are obviously much smaller files so I think it would be easier to combine them as MPEG4's.

I am having this problem as well. I can rip my VOB files into one large file but my problem is that the large file will not play in my windows media player or any other player for that matter. When I try to convert it videora has an error and shuts down. When I rip the files into smaller <1GB files they all play and convert fine but I am stuck with 5 or more VOB or MPEG (after conversion) files. Anybody got any ideas on how to fix this?? Or have a good MPEG Joiner???
