Quick question. Will downloading files from my PC to my PS3 affect my monthly download limit usage from my internet provider? Or is it send via LAN (router) and it doesnt have anything to do with the internet (modem)? Cause you need to be connected over the internet with your PS3 to access you PC's server. Thanks alot

If your PC where the File Server is running is on the same network as your PS3 (which is what it sounds like from what you have posted) then no it will not affect your ISP bandwidth.

As a side note:
The PS3 connecting to the internet is for web browsing (accessing pages not hosted on your home network), PSN, online gaming, etc. I suppose the easiest way to think about it is ask yourself "Where is the thing I want to access". If its somewhere on your network then the data will stay inside your network. If its somewhere outside of your network then it will go out on the internet.

If you had your PC at home and a PS3 at your mates house then it would affect your upload bandwidth as you would be uploading a file from your PC, the data would travel across the internet (via your ISP and your mates ISP) and end up at your mates PS3 (which would affect his download limit).
