Sorry for sounding really thick here!

I've downloaded Red Kawa File server
Launched the File Server
Went to the settings page entered my directory where my video's are

Now on the PS3 i open on my Internet Browser
Enter the network IP address i.e 192.168.x.x
Then get a network error!! --nooo!

Am i entering the correct IP address.. i copied the address from my IE Browser on my laptop? Also tried to copy the one when i launch the icon, it shows in a blue bar what the IP address is.

ANY suggestions?

Hi,
Ok to confirm the IP Address of the machine running the File Server do the following... (im assuming your running XP).

* Go to Control Panel -> Network Connections
* Right click on the "Connected" network adaptor. Most probably called something like "Local Area Connection".
* When the Right-click menu appear, click "Status"
* Click the "Support" Tab
* On that Tab the "IP Address" field is the one your interested in. That is the IP address of your PC from the point of view of your home network. This is the IP you want to be entering into your web browser (on any of your PC's/PS3/Laptop/etc).

If that was the IP you were using then great. The next thing is the directory paths, you have to be careful about having "\" in all the right places.

i.e. The windows folder "C:\SomeFolder\Downloads"
Should be entered as "C:\SomeFolder\Downloads\" <- note the "\" at the end.

Also if you are running the File Server on your PC and you have a Firewall Running make sure you give it permissions to run. i.e. it will need server permissions.
