this is a diffrent program it dose not make those files for the PSP. Keep using PSP video 9 for the PSP and use PS3 video 9 for the PS3.

I have a PS3
I have a PSP with firmware 3.03 oec

Is there an AVC (high quality) video format that will allow me to encode once and play on both devices?
I really do not want to have to encode twice.

I have had no problems playing PSP files on the PS3. not the best quality because of the about 1/4+ size of the psp screen. but it dose work. I also think that if you have both the PS3 and psp updated and you have the wireless in the ps3 you can do the remote thing with the psp and watch your videos.
but don't take my word on that I got screwed over by the E-bay sellers who showed up over a week before the ps3 was due to come out. the only up side was that I was right when two days before I was looking at the Japanese prices and the problems with there market and kept telling them that it was a problem. sorry for getting side tacked there.
that was a thought of the reason they made that function. only thing that I think it can't really do is blueray over wireless. but I think that is because of the content control stuff .

Acutally, if you know how to play with profiles, you can use PS3Video9 to make your PSP videos as well. I haven't tried it yet but there are resolution that goes that far down. Just remember that PSP requires specific file directory and naming structure. Unfortunatly encoding twice is your only option because of the resolution of each device.

Using remote control on your PSP/PS3 ain't all that great in my experience. Kinda pointless in my opinion, if you're limited to the range of the PS3.

Back to the original question:
1. You're on your own on that one. It's up to the developers if they want to add that resolution on that.
2. Don't quite understand the question. If you're asking what I think you're asking, the PS3 and PSP just looks at the filename and create the video "name" just based on it.
3.Thumbnails are actually JPEG files names at .THM. If you know the resolution, you can make your own thumbnails.
