I've downloaded all 3 softwares for the ps3 that RedKawa makes: Video 9, MCX, and File Server.
I converted some of my mp4/avi files into mp4 files using Video 9 and set them in the proper directory. The PS3 picks it up and detects the files, but when I try to access them, the PS3 either puts up a "network error" or "Save Location" messages.
How do I get to save these files into the PS3 hard drive under Videos? I'd love to have my Initial D/Bleach vids on the PS3 Hard Drive! Also, I'm considering the External USB Hard drive alternative for extra space (I've got he 20GB and its down to 8 or 7 I believe). Is there any problems with using the External Hard Drive as extra space for more vids/files?

PS - I've got the MP3 files to work, I have a song in the music folder. I used the file server, but the movie/video files dont seem to work the same way.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks~!!!

Thanks to Coz for the nudge in the right direction!
I figured out that the problem wasn't w/ the Video 9 conversion, but the server parameters.
You see, I've been switching off from the Abyss Web Server and the RedKawa. The Abyss was what I used to get the MP3 to the PS3 HD. When I tried using RedKawa to transfer the mp3, it gave me the same "Network Error" that I got from the videos. SO......I went and troubleshooted the settings.

Here's the answer:
I had the directory for the RedKawa server set to the actual folder of the files. What I needed was to set the directory above the folder that the files are in.

Here's an example:
Lets say the video files are in the folder [C:/test]
If you set the "Approved Download Directories" to [C:/test] in the RedKawa File Server Settings you will not be able to download the files. You can access the directory, but you wont be able to download. The solution: you have to set the RedKawa File Server Settings to [C:/]. This will allow you to download anything from that directory. At least that's what corrected my problems. I'll mess around more w/ the settings, but so far everything I've downloaded works on the PS3 (as long as I've converted it using Video9). BLEACH LOOKS SO GOOD ON S-VIDEO!!!!

PS - Don't include the brackets for the directory path, that was just meant to encase the directory path that you need to type in....

Results are in! I've tried setting different parameters for the File Server. Even w/ a different directory, as long as the files are located in a folder WITHIN that directory, you should be able to download it.
