This method lets you transfer video files to your PS3:
1) use the Red Kawa Video Converter with settings of MPEG-4 SP 768k to convert your video file.
2) By default this will create a video file in C:\Program Files\Red Kawa\Video Converter\Videos\PS3\MPEG4-SP
3) Drag the converted file to the default shared documents folder C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents
4) Make sure file sharing is enabled on your pc.
5) for the first time users if you want to check that your PS3 will be able to download the file load Red Kawa Media Center on your PC and attempt to download the file on your pc by going to My Files--> C--> Documents and Settings --> All Users --> Documents and click the file name. it should prompt a save box. you won't need to save the file given that it is on your pc and you'd be duplicating it but if the save box appears it wil work for your PS3
6) load your MCX up on your PS3 and navigate to the same place. Click the file, it'll transfer to your PS3 and sit in your video section.
7) watch
hope this helps.... FLV didn't work for me at all, nor did streaming
Also of note:
If you want to use a folder of your choice instead just make sure file sharing is enabled for that folder. You can also have the Video Converter put the newly created file in that same folder by going to Settings-->Devices in the Video Converter and altering the default destination of the MPEG4-SP files.
