ps3 not detecting files?

HI,
I converted A vid to mp4 using ps3 video 9 but I can't get the ps3 to detect it. I put the file on memory stick but no luck. the weird thing is that it detects the files that I convert with psp video 9 no problem. The file doesn't seem to be corrupt or anything. I can play it fine with media player classic. I tried shortening the file name but still no good. any help would be appreciated. thanks.

Does a memory stick icon show up under Video? Does the little icon in the top right hand corner of the TV screen show, spin, stop or does it even show up at all?

Don't know for sure what the problem is but try placing the video files in a folder called VIDEO. It's fine that you shortened the name but make sure you have not spaces in the name. PS3 doesn't like spaces and some special characters.

I just tried to view videos on mi PS3, that i have already converted whit PS3video9, and i burn it on CD, I also burned photos on this CD, but when i put it on mi PS3, only photos were showed, the directory of mi videos didn't shwo up, even when I pressed the triangle button:confused: . today i'll will try to put the videos on a USB flash drive, on a directory called VIDEOS, maybe it will work, any help will be apreciated...

Thanks for the help. Putting the file in the VIDEO directory worked. Boy do I fell stupid. It is still weird though that vids converted with psp videod 9 worked from the mp_root directory and the other one didn't.
