Did you burn the CD as a data CD or as a music CD? It needs to be a data disk. I personally put the files in a folder called MUSIC then burn it to a DVD+RW but it should work the same with a CD. Be sure the files are approved extensions for the PS3 and the names have no spaces. Good luck

Ive had nothing but problems with transferring files in any other way than Red Kawa. Sometimes I can get it to work using my usb drive but the results are different every time. Im sure its more of a firmware issue rather than a mere file problem.

I just tried a CD to see if it would work and it did. In fact, I burned two disks. I answered yes when the program ask if I wanted to CLOSE the disk. I answered no to another a bit later. The PS3 accepted the one I had closed but did not accept the other.
I was wondering if this could be the root of your problem. On my software, if I chose NO it allows me to come back later and add more data.
