When I install and launch it displays the following address as active:

http://0.1.0.5:8192/

but my ip address is

http://192.168.1.252

Anyone knows what's going on? Is it a bug with machines with more than one network adapter? I have a laptop with wired and wireless and i only use the wireless

That's strange. You could try re-installing Media Center X. Or maybe you need to open/forward ports.

When u press open ps3 media center X on your pc it will give you 3 buttons: Lauch Media Center, Lauch Red Kawa, and Lauch User Guide.

1. Press Lauch Media Center. this will open your internet browser. look up at the adress bar and look at the adress. its should hav some numbers with dots in between. the last nmbers should be :8192 i think.

2. Open your PS3 browser and copy the EXACT adress, make sure the media canter is on on your pc too. you MUST put :8192 at the end, and not .8192

3. You should have your media center on your ps3.;)

I'm having a problem too. When ever I put the IP numbers into the PS3's browser It says page cannot be displayed. I know I put the numbers in correctly, but it still doesn’t work. I keep the program open, but DO I need to keep my PC connected to the internet? I cant connect the PC and PS3 to the internet at the same time because I only have a modem.

So, how do you have the PC and PS3 connected?

I don’t. When ever I have to connect my PS3 to the net I have to unplug the modem, unhook the Ethernet cable from the PC, put into the PS3, turn the modem on, and then turn on the PS3. And then when I want to use the computer I have to do all of that over again....Back to my first question. Can anyone answer it?

To use Media Center X you have to have a connection live between the two. For example, I have a router and a wireless connection between the two. The PS3 comes with wireless capability but you'll need an access point like a router for the two to communicate.

Under a typical setup, the PC and PS3 communicate back and forth without the data going out to the web and returning. It stays within your house, if you will so plugging and unplugging the ethernet cable won't work.

Until you create a wireless network your best bet is to copy files over to the PS3 using some media, either a CD, DVD or thumb drive.
