I have tried in 3 different browsers to search on this term ("Could not be created in the specified directory") and am constantly getting the error message that the search term is less than four words and will be discarded. I'm quite certain the fix is listed somewhere, but I'm simply not paging through 5000 messages looking for it.

I'm using Videora 2.19 on XP, and I also have the most recent version on Vista. At first I thought it was a Vista problem, or perhaps the most recent version problem, or perhaps a combination, so I backed off to my known working program (which is 2.19 on XP).

The following is the console information I'm getting from 2.19 on Vista. If I recall correctly, the error on Vista is 100302.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I really want this video on my iPod so I can listen to it on my commute.

Thank you. :)

I have also changed the source and destination directories with no luck, and I have windows updates turned on for both machines (I own both copies of windows legally).

I checked the FFMPG page but I don't know what I'm supposed to be looking for.

. . .

Is that relevant?

It's a partioned drive on my external, which is plugged in to the machine.

I prefer to keep my data on an external drive.

Do I need to reinstall Videora to the C drive?

No... sorry. I guess I have a prediliction for asking irrelevant questions. Carry on.

Sorry, I didn't see it written anywhere, even in your "collected wisdom" that states that Videora must run from a specific drive or it won't work at all. In fact, the only programs I've ever seen that require specific paths are Microsoft programs, which invariably crash anyway.

As I mentioned in the original post, the search feature appears to be non-functional, or I'd use it to search on that particular item.

Given that I got more or less the same error message from a different machine running a different version of ViP and a different operating system, and given that I had that in the presumably approved directory, I think my question was perfectly understandable.

Thank you for your assistance.
