Its a simple resolution.

I was having problem converting alot of videos to AVC before I remembered I was having the same issues on my PSP.

For AVC you have to set the Audio Sampling Rate to 48000. Once I set this, all my videos now playback flawlessly on the PS3.

I hope it works for everyone else.

Sorry about that, it fixed alot of my videos, just not all of them.

Something else must bet he problem. I'm checking alot of stuff right now.

Where you converting Xvids?

yeah Xvids.

I believe it has to do with something with video corruption.

I have been testing the -t command to convert a limited time of the video.

So far every single Xvid thats fully encoded, alot of them end up unsupported.

But with the -t 60 commands they all work, buts its only 60 seconds

with the -t 600 command it all seems to work.

Something has to be happening either during the conversion or at the end.

OK I believe I may have found the problem.
It may have to deal with the Main Profile setting.
It seems encoding videos in PS3 Video 9 just don't work for me.
I instead used a program called SUPER which provides alot more customization
However I wasn't able to get any H.264 videos to work at all.

Then I went to the Playstation 3 website to find out that the Main Profile settings has to be valid. In SUPER it was using Baseline profiles. So I used Wikipedia to find out what the profile versions mean. I found out that the resolution and frame rate I was using was 720x480@30hz for my anime shows. That was Main Profile 3.

I went into SUPER and changed from baseline profile to main profile and clicked version 3. I then queued up a few anime videos that didn't work before and to my surprise they seem to work now.

I hope this helps in getting the PS3 Video 9 software to encode videos that work. Either add the option to change the Main Profile settings or have it automatically select the best version based on the video settings.

I can now say im 100% sure it has to do with the Main Profile setting.

I just got home and left the entire Naruto Series encoding to H.264 with SUPER and its current done with 1-30, and they ALL work now while they didn't in PS3 Video 9.

Hope this helps.

Heres the link he was talking about.

I'll give it a shot I guess. I'm still getting the unsupported file thing.

Preface: I suck at, and hate working with, viedo files.

That said, I tried working with "SUPER" and re-encoding my file. The file was in MP4 format at 720x480 (sp), made with PS3 Video 9, originally from DVD files (VOB). It worked, kinda. The video is now accepted by the PS3, and "plays". Unfortunatly, both the audio and video skip, and are nowhere near synced. I used the following settings:

Output container: mp4 (MPEG-4)
Output Video Codec: H.264/AVC
Output Audio Codec: AAC
Video Scale Size: 720x480
Aspect: 4:3
Frame/Sec: 30
Bitrate: 768
Optoins: (check) High Quality, (no check) Stretch it, H264 Profile: 3
Sampling Freq: 22050
Bitrate kbps: 64
DVD Language Select: Default

My guess is that my bitrate setting is off, but I am unsure of what it should be. If anyone can help it would be much appreciated.
