how to select audio track from avi movie

Hi!,
before Ipod!,
I was making xvid avi movies with 2 audio tracks English and French.

I would now like to convert some of these to ipod nano 3g TV resolution.
The French audio track I want is the 2nd track in the avi movie.

The question is the following:
How can I select the second audio track in the avi file to create my mp4 movie?
