YouTube Downloader App works great!:D But the thing is the .mp4 can't be sync'ed on my 5th gen ipod using itunes. It says something like "the file was not copied because it can't be played on this ipod"... :confused: Any ideas on this issue?...thanks! :o

I have the same problem. I figured out what the problem was... if u right click on the file in itunes and click on get info, it'll show the codec used to play the files. A file that can sync with my ipod video uses mpeg-4 codec and the ones that are created by the youtube downloader uses H.264 codec. I assume the new files are only supported by the iphone and itouch.

I've been having the same problem, but I don't think it's the codec. I've got a 5th generation ipod, the first video I downloaded from youtube works perfectly on it, and it uses the H.264 codec. But every video I've downloaded after won't transfer to my ipod, I get the "cannot be played on this ipod" message that you guys mentioned. All of these videos use 264, so why would one work but not the rest? Also, the vidoes I've converted with the videora ipod converter use the H.264 codec and they work, so I think it's something else.
Regardless what's causing this, I must agree- SOMEBODY HELP!!!!!

Are you stuck on the welcome/open page? Because I couldn't get past that for a while, it was frustragiting. I think you have to click the "home" button that's above "select stream", tpwards the bottom till you get to an instruction page. It might have been back or foward, I don't remember but one of the buttons gets you to it.

Want to share my impressions about new software.
i find a very functional and informative program which convert video and audio files such as AVI, MPEG, WMV, MOV, MP4, VOB, DivX, XviD, AAC, AC3, MP3, etc. to formats supported by iPod MP4. A very user-friendly interface. i have no problems by using it!
Look at www.macvide.com. I think you like it!:):)

Although the converter is supposed to do this for you, with some youtube videos it doesn't work. It's a longer way of doing it but, once you've used the converter to get the youtube vid to iTunes, if you select the video and then click on 'Advanced' on the toolbar, there is an option to 'Create ipod or iphone version'. Once converted the video should play on your ipod. I have tried it and it does work. Hope this is hepful.

I have the exact same problem - posted HERE (http://www.redkawa.com/forums/showthread.php?t=45962), but I agree, I have other YouTube video's converted by RedKawa, and they work, so what's so different about some, over others ?
I would have thought a 'converted' video is a 'converted' video is a 'converted' video.........no ??:confused:
I'm with Coyote025, btw, all my codec'd videos are the same, but only 4 won't sync.......
....if the codec was wrong, why would it play on my PC in iTunes ?

Hi Tracy - as you can see from my post, above, that's not working for me................I still cannot understand why it works on the PC copy of iTunes and not the iPod ........

Not all YT videos are created equal. They have different resolutions and if you're doing full auto conversions, the sizes may be being autosized to resolutions that are not acceptible by your iPod.

Hey, that is because its format is not supported by your itunes. You must convert flv to MP3 /mp4 first. I recommend this free one to you,you can convert flv to all kinds of video and audio formats including MP4 for your ipod as well,
