I can get to my files via the browser and all, but once I click on them to download, the PS3 gives me the message:

"Insert storage media at the save destination."

I want them to go to the HDD, but there's nothing that prompts me to store them there. Anyone seen this? Strange thing is, this only happens with some files (mp3, .mov). Others download to the HDD, but when I go to play them back, I either get "Corrupted Data" or "Unsupported Format" errors.

I was already to post a how-to. Bummer.

I had this same problem, it seems you can olny copy files with no spaces in the file name

I'm having the same trouble. Attempted using this program for the first time tonight. It was smooth sailing up to the part where I selected the song I wanted to copy to my PS3 hard drive and I got the same message you did.

Thats what I had to do to get the files to download. I hope there is a way around that though because I am not about to rename all of my music.

I got everything up and going. My laptop can find and download from the directories I've selected, but the PS3 can't.

The PS3 pulls up all the directories, and will even go through the motion of downloading the file (An MP4 Video) to the SD Disk (PS3 HD Not Accessable). Once it completes, I go back to the main menu only to find the SD Disk empty.

While I'm looking around for my answer, I'll offer as much help as I can.

Same issue here. Can we not save files onto the PS3 HD? Has anyone done this successfully?

Just a follow up on this issue as I have now resolved it. Using the current version of File Server and the latest PS3 firmware, I am able to download files directly to the hard drive of the PS3.

It seems as though the PS3 will prompt you to insert storage media when it doesn't recognize the file type you are trying to transfer to it. I ran some of the videos I was initially trying to load to the PS3 through the Red Kawa PS3 Video 9 application and now when I use File Server to load them to my PS3 I am able to save them to the hard drive and play them back flawlessly.

i ran into this also, its not a problem with the fileserver/ps3 video 9. Its a problem with the ps3 itself. I have done a few test and it happens when the ps3 doesn't 'like' the resolution. I say 'like' because on several test files resolution is the only thing i changed and certain ones would play certain ones will prompt for storage medium. sorry i didnt' keep a list of what did what, i will redo if ppl want the info.
