i have recently downloaded this software and have now converted a film.

The film was downloaded from the internet and was approx 750mb

Having converted the movie ready to view via the wii. i noted that the file size of the converted movie is 2.5gb

i only have a 2gb sd card and can't find anything bigger that is compatable.

I'm told that SD HC cards are not for the wii anly standard SD cards will work.

Can anyone please help.

All i wanted to do was watch a downloaded movie on my tv (the pc is not connected nor close)

Thanks

You can use mini and micro SD cards, but you will need an adapter card for them. An adapter card is the size of a standard SD card, and has a slot for you to put the mini/micro card into it.

You can encode at a lower bitrate which will reduce the size of the file.

If you can update the Firmware to Ver 3.3E or better. It has added the following (from the changelog)

Data Management / Storage Solutions
- USB Flash Drive support
- USB Hard Drive support
- Support for SD Cards above 2GB
- Ability to load Virtual Console games from an SD card without it residing in the Wii main memory.

Do not upgrade if you have a modchip or the Twilight Hack. :)

I very much agree with the statement upstairs. This problem for a long time I think did not understand that, thanks to you for reminding me came to understand.

I have used a 4g sd card with the trouble shooting output and photos. They work on the 4 g. card. Not the problem.

I did get a 29 minute segment to work using the simple method. Bit the audio was out of sync.

So I tried 4 profiles and queued them. Each profile had a start and end point equal to 50 minutes. First output was right on the money. Second output was the rest of the movie, un-segmented. And the Wii said I had 2 movies with the correct title. I felt I had a winner. But when clicked on , they had the ubiquitous ? mark. help
