I have converted a few .avi files to mp4s but they do not show up on the menu. I did the same exact thing with mp3 and it sees them fine no prob. I does not see the converted files but the memory space shows that the file is most certainly taking up space but is not seen in the video it say there are no vids? wtf I am frusterated:mad::confused:

I have that EXACT same problem on this edition of PSP video 9. convert videos convert fine, load onto the memory stick and you know it has used up the memory space available but shows as "no videos available" in the video list. I dont get it? Thing is, I used an older version of PSP video 9 on one of my older memory sticks and it still works fine. I tried adding a video using this newer version on that same memory stick and it did not show up, but definetly took up the space! Have you been able to solve the problem? I'm still trying to!

I had the same issue, tranfered fils missing on my PSP (Also manually tried to move them into the old DIRs (were not seen or seen as corrupt).
Did some searching and (not sure when) But newer version of PSP code (on 5.x), now expect a VIDEO DIR right on the root of the Flash file and not under MP_Root. Once I created the DIR, tranfers worked fine.. I'll try to find that DIR page link (was quite good), and post.

Quite correct. This is why PSP Video 9 now asks what your firmware revision is, so it can use the proper format for your firmware. But keep in mind, that if the file is named with the same name as the original file (instead of the old 'M4V*****.MP4, where the *'s are numbers), then it MUST be put in a folder called VIDEO in the root of the PSP's memory stick. And so far, I have not had the newest PSP Video 9 give me ANY files with the old M4V file name... If your memory stick does not have the folder, then simply make it(all caps of course), and put your conversions in it. You should be good to go.

I am able to sucessfully rip the dvd and convert the file but can not get the file to transfer to the psp. I went to the library tab like the insctutions said but still no luck. There is something I am missing.

Hi, I too am having trouble with "Unrecognised Format" or whatever it says, there is something on the memory card, I can see the space it has used, anyway, what I do now is let Video9 use the default settings, and then copy it to the PSP, with Video9. Video9 puts It on the PSP now, with the little Picture. when I play it, the video is ok, but the sound is way too fast, it is playing it in fast forward. The original on the computer is ok, but the PSP convertion isn't. I can play the convertion on the computer, and its too fast on there too, so its definatly the sound on the convertion. Anyone else had this, any ideas how to sort it out, Thanks.
