I've just now started trying to convert full-length movies from mkv format into mp4 so I can play them on my PS3, but once I get to file sizes this big conversions that used to work perfectly now don't work at all.
The biggest one I'm trying to convert right now is a movie that's in 1080p and is 6GB. I tried it once but after eight hours of converting I just got a bad file a sixth of the original size.
The movie is also encoded in DTS and I'd like to keep it that way so I can hear it through my surround sound setup that's hooked up to the PS3. Is there a specific way to retain the original sound channel when converting?
