I went out and bought a new PSP 3000 today and immediately hooked it up to the PC to see what movies/video's I could put on it etc.

I installed the most recent version of PSP Downloader 9 and converted a number of videos to mp4 format. I then followed all of the instructions on how to put them onto my PSP.

I created a root directory folder named "MP_ROOT" and inside that I created a folder named "100MNV01" So it would basically look like this K:\MP_ROOT\100MNV01
I then transferred the converted mp4 files into that folder and tried it out. The PSP Doesn't show that there are any videos on the memory stick. Now i have spent the last 3-4 hours looking over the forums where people have posted relatively stupid questions regarding the same problems. But i assure you that I've followed the instructions on over 5 different guides with no luck.

I even tried downloading a couple of pre-formatted videos from PSP sites to see if they work, also with no luck.

I've tried moving the MP_ROOT folder to many different places on the drive with no luck, even tried making a Video folder also with no luck.

Please, let there be an obvious and scrub answer to my problems.

Just copy your video to "VIDEO" Folder!!

Yep. The old way (and still done for older firmware versions) is not necessary for newer psps, nor for psps that have been updated to newer firmware... You can easily tell the difference if you look at the name of the converted video file...

If it's called 'M4V10001.MP4' (or any series of 5 numbers), and the icon file is a .thm, then it does need to be put into the MP_ROOT/100MVN01 folder, and it will work fine.

If it's called 'Pumpkin Scissors - 01.MP4' (just an example- it would be called the same name as your original file) and the icon image is a .jpg, then you would just put it in 'VIDEO' in the root of the memory stick.

Hope that helps!
