Hi there, I've been trying to convert a .mkv file for my iTouch 2G and I can get the video and audio and everything and it looks great, but I need the subtitles. The movie is in Japanese and the file is hardsubbed. I'm not quite sure how to go about getting the subtitles into an swf file (if I can) and I really would like this movie on my iTouch.

I have the same problem when trying to convert MKV videos for my iPhone 3G. Audio and video looks and sounds great but the subtitles are missing. Any plans for a future fix?

Videora won't convert video with subtitles when the subtitles are integral. They have to be a separate subtitle file. You'll need to find a way to extract the subtitles from the mkv file.

ok i had the same problem it took me a while to figure it out first download
mkvtoolnix extract it into a folder then open the folder and open MKVextractGUI now on the top right you will see ... click that button now choose the .mkv video file. wait then you should get some boxes in the middle you can check. Chose the subtitles box with should have subtitles (S_TEXT/ASS). Once you check that box click extract to the right. Now you should get a file in the same folder as the .mkv video file it should say Track3.ass Now you have to copy the .mkv video file name exactly as it says and change the Track3.ass to whatever the name the .mkv video file is. Example: the video file is [HorribleSubs]Natsu.no.Arashi-01[480p] now i will change the Track3.ass to [HorribleSubs]Natsu.no.Arashi-01[480p].ass and thats it for that now when you use the converter it will only show [HorribleSubs]Natsu.no.Arashi-01[480p] not the .ass. Thats fine convert the video file like you normally would once its done check the converted file if you did it right it should have the subtitles. Good Luck...
i just want to ask senigma..is this also applicable on ipod classic 80gb 6th gen.
i got errors when i did that(error 10287)
i did exactly what you said.but maybe it ain't workin' on classic. :D
